*419 - rain clouds

You know how that only happens in cartoons?

Well, you thought wrong.

It happened to Maddy and I today, but funnier, because the sun was scorching, the sky was blue, and there was not a cloud in the sky. We were walking towards Millenia when we passed by a group of people screaming and pointing. I figured a pipe or sprinkler burst or something, because water was splattering noisily down from above, and the ground was pretty wet.

A few meters later, and we were suddenly caught in the "heavy downpour". And then we realised it was RAIN. Hahaha. And the funniest thing was that there was nothing but clear blue sky above us. It was raining in bouts, in one concentrated spot and a few more smaller spots around us.

Then we started getting worried that it was an elaborate joke (because it was just too cartoon-ish to be true) and that there were hidden cameras watching us scream and leap about and get all soggy in the "rain" so we quickly walked away.

And today was a particularly interesting day because on the way home we met Joan on the bus and when I sat down something went "CRACKLE" and it was a little plastic bag on my seat that I hadn't noticed. BOMB ALERT. I think at this point you're supposed to call the police and evacuate the bus hahaha. But then we were curious because the mysterious package was heavy and cold so we decided to open it, only that when we got past the first layer (a black plastic bag) and then the second (a double-knotted red plastic bag) and reached the third (a layer of newspapers wrapped around the object), we started screaming and scaring ourselves silly because it COULD be a piece of chopped up dead body that the murderer left around town as his way of destroying the evidence. OMG. Now I'm dying of curiosity and I wish we peeled open the newspaper because I'm pretty sure it's something silly like a bunch of carrots.

Anyway, I'll be looking out in the newspapers the next few days for reports on (literarily) SCATTERED showers and pieces of dead bodies in plastic bags found around town.
