Today has been out of the ordinary.
So, I intentionally woke up late to skip my first class, decided to sleep in some more to skip my second class, and decided to just stay home and skip my third class. Decided to give up my spot in a tutoring program and hence skipped the orientation session (because my schedule is pretty crazy this semester anyway).
(Justification: I was feeling ill. For real.)
Then, I went for the SAI mixer to talk to managers and such - the social step of an intensive interview process. Didn't go too badly, surprisingly. But it clashed with my Stats prelim, so I had to leave early.
Arrived in the Statler lounge at 7 pm with a leisurely half an hour to spare. Massaged feet and calmed down from the 10 minute trot in 3.5 inch heels and little dress in weather cold enough to form puffs of clouds when you breathe.
Ambled upstairs for prelim about 5 minutes early, walked casually into room with parfait in hand and heels in the other, only to discover that everyone was already half an hour into their prelim. Mildly surprised, maintained composure, finished exam and checked through twice, left half an hour before time was up (first to leave).
Trotted back in said 3.5 inch heels and little dress in even colder weather. Popped by Apollo to order what Nuf just taught me to say last night: "niu rou hua dan fan". (The lady understood me!!) Got to house and couldn't find keys. Called housemates and no one was coming home soon.
Camped in Heidi's house for an hour, alone on their couch because everyone was studying for prelims. Doodled on receipts and sent aimless texts because I had absolutely nothing to do. Suddenly had a brainwave, and ...
... Found keys. Hidden in a secret compartment in my purse so that I will always have them with me.
Now: back in room, reeling from the excitement of today, eating a third of said niu rou hua dan fan and wondering what to do with the rest of it.
