*611 - hungover in nyc

A quick hello from NYC! It's almost 2 am but I'm waiting for my hair to dry. I usually sleep with wet hair and soggy pillows but it won't be pleasant if Ian discovers Evelyn-breed mould on his pillows in a few days.

Had a Filipino party last night where I was mildly drunk with about 7 shots of alcohol swirling in my veins. Was a sleepy drunk at that point even though everyone else was going crazy. Maintained consciousness because I knew I needed to get back to the apartment (Manhatten to Queens = quite far) safely by myself.

Got back to the apartment at 2-ish and it turned out that the boys had just got out the alcohol. Chugged mega vodka shots with whole grapes (??) from wine glasses and knew that I was losing it when everything started tasting like water. Became a happy and noisy drunk. At one point, I had an extremely loud argument with Dan about whether pad thai noodles were truly noodles or not. And then we tried to wash some wine glasses but ended up smashing them into the sink. Et cetera.

Then the boys started puking. Me, being the concerned (and un-pukey) sort, staggered around like a pinball against the walls and tried very hard to take care of the puking boys. Realised I was not being useful, hence crawled to bed soon after. We spent the next day nursing massive hangovers with Thai kuay teow, The Prestige, numerous naps, and dinner at 10 pm.

In other news, New York City gets better every time I'm here. I think it's beautifully quaint and busy at the same time. And the weather has been crazy sunny warm - don't even need a jacket in the day!

MoMA, Cunningham, dance performances, shopping, crazy good food, friends. What's not to love.

I will dispel all thoughts of my 3 prelims waiting for me on Thursday. Teehee.
