Wednesday: Chatted to YH for a while (I really like that girl and I think she's super service oriented), worked with JY (who is near superwoman status in my eyes because she get everything done lighting fast), and got asked my number by an NUS boy.
(Sidenote: I never give my number, but I do give my email address when I feel like it, not because I'm desperate to make new male friends but I am wildly curious as to what they have to say to explain themselves. Strange Quivering Boy @ Busstop Who Looked Like He Was 16 But Shocked Me When He Turned Out To Be 25 from a week ago said, "Saying I wanted to be your friend sounds so cheesy but its true." Hahaha. Now wouldn't you want to give out your email address to receive gems like these? :D)
(edit: NUS boy just sent an email saying, "By the way, I am just wondering if I have the honor to ask you out for a dinner, say on next Tuesday? It will just be a causal dinner, I promise." No prizes for guessing my answer hahaha.)
Thursday: Worked with Jenn upstairs again and had a nice time doing what girls do best (gossip!), had a nice time serving Dance Partner & Mich (ate his cilantro fillet, turns out that I don't like cilantro), and was left with only 2 big tables at about 10 when Jenn left.
T306: Are you Chinese?
Me: Yup, 100% Chinese.
T306: Really?!
Me: Yes!
T306: Ni ke yi jiang hua yu?
Me: Er, can, can.
(Blah, blah, chatted a while.)
(T101 calls.)
T101: Are you Chinese?
Me: Huh the other table just asked me that!
T101: So you're Chinese?
Me: Yes, 100% Chinese.
T101: Can you speak Chinese?
Me: Huh the other table just asked me that! Er, ke yi.
T101: Your Chinese sounds funny. The accent is weird.
Hahaha I thought that was funny. I think I look Malay. Which is weird, because all my life (until recently because I get that a lot when I work) I had been thinking that out of all my siblings I am the most obviously Chinese looking.
Anyway, I appreciate these 2 groups of customers who kept me fully entertained until I closed last night. I have much greater respect for people who make serving fun because they are sociable and care enough to include the lonesome waitress in their conversations and pretend to laugh at my jokes and thank me for my service when they leave, than those who stare at me from afar and then nervously ask for my number.
And a photo before I leave because the next few days are going to be incredibly packed:
Let me announce to the world that Kohzy and Desmond have matching Hush Puppy undies that say Thursday Friday Saturday!! :D :D :D So funky I also want!!
(Angie was right when she remarked to Kohzy "now that photo's going to be on Evelyn's blog". Hahaha.)
