So, my life has been revolving around work and dance. Work: waitressing & earrings. Dance: Jazz & Lyrical. Work AND dance: Asian dance performances.
Life is good, because I love everything I do. (:
Work is great, maybe because the people who work with me are fantastic people. Everyone's young and friendly and full of spunk, bosses included - I'm not sure if any of the staff are above 30 years old! I'm happy because I'm learning so much about service, and I'm meeting lovely people, and the atmosphere is really casual and friendly (as opposed to being stiff or posh or scary). It's really fun interacting with customers too (and getting flirted at now and then HAHA) and trying to make their visit special, because that's what service is all about, isn't it? Plus! I haven't broken anything, I haven't been scolded, AND I haven't critically injured anyone. Accomplishment. (: Hahaha.
And the perks of the job are pretty good, heh heh. We get a free meal every time we work, and the cooks are pretty darn good! We get to select a drink from the menu as well, so I'm slowly working my way through the menu. They often send us random bits of food to munch on whenever we're free (so far that has included items like a slab of salmon, mini chopped up bits of sandwiches, chicken wings, brownies, nuggets, ...) and provide supper if we work late. Yes, I'm growing fat on the job, but let's not dwell on that.
Worked till 2 last night, so some of us decided to go for supper. We were unexpectedly joined by one of the bosses (with his girlfriend in tow) who treated us to drinks, and thereafter sped me all the way back home in his fancy schmancy sports car at >100km/h. Ooh. And previously, I had been getting lifts home also from this really nice guy Jacob even though he lives far, far away from me. AIYOH so paiseh! But so nice of them (:
Anyway, went to sleep at about 5 am yesterday, dragged myself out of bed at 10 and got to work 15 mintues late. Boss spotted me trying to sneak in and laughed because during supper the previous night I was assuring him that I would be able to wake up in time. Whoopsies. Did manual labour upstairs for a few hours (preparing for a buffet function), served downstairs for a few hours (I met friends from RJ who were having a class outing!), slaved at the dishwasher for a while (the person who washes dishes decided to quit so we have to do it ourselves now) and zombied my way home.
I'm so tired but I'm happy. And, I got to talk to Justin for ages and ages today, wheee. (: One more week and I'll finally see him again! Time flies when you're busy.
