While packaging earrings into their envelopes, I was wondering why my scissors didn't seem to be working well, so I ran my thumb across it in a bid clean off any dirt that was making it blunt, and most ironically ended up slicing my thumb and leaving a trail of blood on an unsuspecting customer's envelope. (Well, it looks like a smear of chocolate so I guess that's okay.)
Finished up the Tibetan dance yesterday. I often feel a little disappointed after laoshi's practices because I sense she doesn't like the way I dance. Shrug. I never really felt that way until one day last year when she mentioned offhand something extremely hurtful (to me) concerning my dancing. Everyone sort of rushed to my defence and noone remembers now, probably, but. It still makes me sad when I think about it.
Ohwells let's not think sad thoughts. I'm just glad I get to dance for her anyway, and besides, it's awfully fun, plus it's satisfying to perform for kids and teach them more about dance.
Had some time after that so I trotted off to Arab Street to hunt for crystals and stones. Bead shopping is always an expensive affair - I spent more than $40 on 5 little packets, some of which contain only a couple of beads. But that's normal, and that's alright. (: Quality over quantity m'dears.
Jazz and Lyrical in the evening! Now that's the sort of dancing that makes me decidedly happy. And! She got me to demonstrate a slanty split jump with arched back thingy. And! I did consistent clean doubles on BOTH sides with good spotting! Quite unbelievable, seeing that I've always managed sloppy doubles on my left and once-in-a-while good doubles on my right, and NEVER spotting on the second turn. Personal achievement, yay. (I suspect it had something to do with me not using rosin hence my shoes were exceptionally slippery but let's not consider that for now.) (I also suspect not many people know what I'm talking about hence would not share my joy.)
I'm aching all over today and that always makes me happy. Except for the fact that I think I injured my left elbow even more yesterday doing pushups, but never mind.
I just finished lunch at 2, and I will have to have dinner at 4 plus to get to work by 6. Yes I said 'work'. It's my first day (night?) today and I'm mighty excited (: Noone is allowed to visit me yet though, until I ascertain how good/awful I am at waitressing. Heehee. At your own risk.
Enchanted by Jamie Cullum yet again (: I'm such a fan.
When I look back on my ordinary, ordinary life,
I see so much magic, though I missed it at the time.
