*729 - by the stairs

Meet me by the stairs
Where a universe of people converge and collide
We will have no choice
But to accidentally bump into each other when you

Meet me by the stairs
Where a different universe of people float by
We can walk on water too
Across the belly of the river and up the other flight of stairs
Across the harbor and on to the other island
Across the ocean and across the international date line
Always travelling West to go back in time
Back and back and back
Reliving each moment until you

Meet me by the stairs
Where yet a different universe of people do not exist
Where you and I also do not exist
Though the ruffling winds remind us to breathe
(Because the relative warmth of the earth
Forces the cool breeze inland)
I will breathe, even though I do not exist
Neither do you, but will you?
Please

Meet me by the stairs
Where the stairs are irrelevant
Irrelevant!
Even if they decide to exist
We exist still more
We exist in blues and purples and every shade of black
We exist in and out, above and around, beside and beneath
We exist even on those irrelevant stairs
Irrelevantly spiraled, or pebbly, or marbled, or lumpy,
You will still
Meet me by the stairs
That makes them no less irrelevant
Because everything is irrelevant when you

Meet me by the stairs
