*507 - warm weather & haircut & oreo cheesecake

In the last post, I was basking in the 7 degree weather.

Yesterday, I was delirious with joy at the 14 degree weather.

And today, I'm just kind of perplexed by the 18 degree weather.

What the heck is happening to Ithaca?? When was the last time we actually had no snow on the ground and walked around without thick winter coats?? It's absolutely fantastic, though, and here are a few photos to prove it:

I'm now sitting on Kenneth's bed, with the blinds up and the sun pouring onto my face, totally sleep deprived and woozy. I had way too much energy last night and was just driving myself insane in my room, so I pottered over to Joel's place (just a flight of stairs away) at 2 am, and we ended up sitting on plastic bags in the middle of his bathroom floor, snip-snip-snipping away at MY HAIR.

(And therefore, I am going down to the hairdresser's later this afternoon. Hahaha. I must give him credit though, it's actually a decent haircut, but I just feel insecure about it, so I'm just going to get it tidied up at the salon.)

I ended up concussing on his fluffy bed at 5 am, woke up intermittently to try to solve a rubix cube (failed), and truly got up at about 11 am to run back to Kenneth's to have leftover shepherd's pie for lunch (yum). During which, Joel managed to stay awake and dota the entire time. I bet he's still at it right now.

What a crazy night. HAHA.

To continue with some of the Houston photographs, which I am not posting in any sort of chronological order at all: How To Make Oreo Cheesecake.

Step 1: Pulverize oreos with sugar jar or back of wooden spoon

Step 2: Make cream cheese mixture and pour over oreo base

Step 3: Add a layer of oreo bits

Step 4: Pour in remaining cream cheese mixture, bake

Step 5: Make sour cream mixture, spread, bake again

Step 6: Drizzle molten chocolate over cake

Step 7: Remove cake from pan

Step 8: Cut cake

Step 9: Admire

Step 10: Devour

Update about my hair: So I went to the hairdresser's, and she stared at my hair and went "Hmm you seem to have a chunk taken out of your hair?!", and proceeded to crop the rest of my hair off. Now I have insanely short hair that can hardly be tied, and it's cut pretty horribly (I suspect it's because the hairdresser wasn't used to cutting Asian hair). Hahaha. So much for my moment of impulse. 'Twas fun, though.
