*506 - an update on my life

I'm touched! Katie just said, "i love u so much ar evelyn.......if i were a man, I definitely would want you to be my wife.."

True love! Awwwww.

The amazing 7 degree weather today was a clear indicator to me that I had no excuse not to pull on the sneakers and head out for a jog. Tank top, little shorts, windbreaker with sleeves rolled up to my elbows, biting wind and slushy road; pretty darn invigorating!

Regrettably, I lasted all of 20 minutes: it was terrific running down to the Commons, but running back up was painful, and continuing up up up to Collegetown totally killed me, whereupon I stopped, wobbled dizzily into Wilson Farm, and bought $15 worth of cookies, chips, drinks, etc.

So much for running off the 294231809140 Reese's peanut butter cups that I ate within a day.

A few photos of Houston: Christmas at the park!

In the middle of a giant grassy "peace" symbol

Cute little Santarina

Funky plant

Beautiful pond

Sun, clear blue skies, leaves on trees, water that's not frozen over:
things you don't often see in Ithaca nowadays

Is this a swan (with acne)??

2 large ducks by the pond

Bound to the train tracks!!

(And about 1 million more photographs to go.)

So, I've returned to Ithaca from Houston. Leaving for NYC in 3 days and then off to Cancun :D

What I've done since I got back:

Sleep, try to recover from my cold, sleep some more, buy groceries (so much that I could hardly carry them), go on a shopping spree (in Pyramid Mall, of all places hahaha), update Elisa and Evelyn, make delicious oven baked fries (amongst other yummy things), plough through the million photographs I took in Houston ...

What I did in Houston:

Have a lot of Family Time (hahaha), conspire around The Crisis, play 10000 rounds of Cranium and 10000 hours of Wii, camp on Joel's mattress and have very -cough- coherent conversations until 4 am and zombie around the next day, listen to extremely beautiful music played by extremely talented musicians (I'm referring to Joel & family), visit NASA & Chinatown & the park & Rise & the mall several times, do other random things like baking cheesecake, helping the mum with cooking, playing scavenger hunt, learning how to solve the rubix cube, watching I Am Legend and Stardust ...

It was actually a very pleasant and relaxing vacation in Houston. There were a few -cough- exciting moments haha which made us wish we were back in Ithaca, but apart from that, I did enjoy myself immensely, in a rather floaty and ladeedadeeda way. (Not terribly eloquent at the moment.) I'm really grateful to Joel & family for their wonderful hospitality ... I really felt like part of the family haha and I actually miss hanging out with Jon, Joseph, and Juliana!! Much thanks to Joel for bearing with me and keeping me entertained for the 2 weeks (:

What I am going to do for the next 3 days before I leave:

Learn Spanish (in 3 days? HEH), plan and pack for the trip, run some necessary errands (buy bus tickets, post stuff, etc), get Elisa and Evelyn up and running completely, make shepherd's pie, cook apple wrapped chicken, bake no-pudge-brownies, bake apple streusel muffins, make pancakes for breakfast, make tuna casserole, whip up some Chinese stir fry for Katie tomorrow (my life obviously revolves around food), and chill to the max.

Sounds good. Making the most of the break while it lasts! :D
