*366 - donut heaven

I'm positively itching to produce a million new earring designs in time for Mothers' Day, but I've still got to plough through the outstanding orders before I can get started on the new stuff. Nooo.

Mothers' Day is on 13 May (strange, because I always thought it was on the 1st Sunday of May), so don't forget your Mummies! (:

Cleared up the site as well, our ancient archives are expanding haha! But new designs soon I hope. And we have an exciting back-from-the-graves idea that we shall work on after Mothers’ Day (:

Finally, an update on the Very Exciting Day with Shib!

Shib can cook, so can you! :D

Satisfied cooks! (: We made stuffed pasta. Minced beef, ricotta, and spinach.

Very yummy, but nothing could compare to what we did next: we made donuts from scratch!! :D

We had some help from my bread machine which is very useful if you don't want to go through the trouble of kneading dough yourself. And it's really cute to watch the dough shaking and bouncing around like it's alive! I <3 Breadmachine.

Breadmachine probably made the dough a lot better than what we would have done by hand, because the dough was so light and fluffy and springy that we had to struggle to get the lump out. Thank you Breadmachine.

We decided to make normal glazed ones, and filled ones too. I didn't have any round cookie cutters, which is why the normal donuts are flowery in shape, haha! Letting the donuts rise again after cutting and filling.

Next: Frying them! I think I burnt these 2 donuts while trying to pose for the photo. Haha! It's very cool because we found out why donuts have that pale line across their middles - it's because the donuts float when they're cooking, and the middle line which doesn't touch the oil much doesn't brown as much! Haha so that's some donut trivia for you.

Pretty donut (: Fillings included strawberry, blackberry, and rose. Rose!! (Courtesy of Shib who bought rose jam from France. It had real chunks of rose petals and it was pretty pale pink omg lovely lovely.) Really yummy. (:

Happy Shib with strawberry donut.

Donut hole!

The recipe said "makes 18". We made about 40!! I think their donuts must be giant sized haha.

We shared a couple of donuts, we split the rest between the two of us, I brought a handful to work, and when I came back from work all but one were gone! (I ate that one for breakfast.)

Everyone seemed to love 'em, and I remember SX's mum telling me that I can open a shop already instead of studying. Haha!

Shibani we are So Kewwllz omg I can hardly believe it. We made donuts, and yummy ones at that! :D But I won't want to make them often, if at all, because we took 3 hours and you should have seen the floury sugary oily disaster in my kitchen after we were done. Haha.

But :D :D :D donuts :D :D :D!

Samsui chicken and friend Penang mee sua. Heavenly, I'm still dreaming about it today! Haha. I missed you so much, it a wonderful feeling being in the company of someone who knows you left right inside out.

And the irony is that I'm munching on frog shaped jellies as I write this.

(Cryptic, heh.)

Preview later, I'm kind of nervous because we are all far from polished. Next week looks to be filled to the brim with dance, so much so that I took the entire week off from work. Haha. All my nights are gone because of dance anyway, and working in the morning and then performing will definitely be too much to handle, so.

Selling tickets yesterday for Sentio at RGS was kind of nice and nostalgic. Saw some juniors, and best of all, saw Christine! (: She's still skinny and cute as ever. I missed her, and um her family. Haha.

-

Hey people, please buy tickets for Sentio! If we don't sell out, we go to jail omg. Hahaha.

Another new girl at work yesterday, who's super nice and genuine, I like her. (:

Gotta run. I seem to be rushing around all the time lately. Well, I like it this way. (:
