*417 - swim class

Tuesdays seem to be something of a ritual for MaddyO and I: Salsa, half priced waffles, origami serviettes, and a long bus ride home.

Last Tuesday was slightly more special in the sense that we went to my dad's nice empty pool and I made a fool of myself but thankfully there was noone to see me, ie. Maddy taught me how to swim. Contrary to the false belief that I am a powerful swimmer, an illusion created by my enormously broad swimmer-build shoulders, I am actually hopeless in water and cannot do much apart from a passable froggiestyle and flicking water in people's faces.

We were both pleased with my progress and next on the plan is to teach me how to swim backwards in a more graceful way than just floating on my back and kicking for all I'm worth. As well as to freestyle 1 lap without drowning, but I nearly didn't type that because that's awfully embarrassing EVEN LITTLE KIDS & OLD FOGIES SWIM 10000000 X BETTER THAN ME OMG.

Swimming tired us out (although we only swam for an hour or so), so we bummed around in the staff lounge for a while before reluctantly getting onto our feet and plodding our way from YCK to Millenia. Gross.

Waiting for salsa class to begin:

Maddy makes a promising hair stylist! Salsa was mostly boring, as usual. They should have different courses for firstly, people who have never ever danced in their lives and have 2 left feet and 2 left hands, and secondly, people who have the correct set of hands and feet. Haha that sounds like Streaming into EM1 and EM2 or Higher Chinese and Express Chinese (guess which one I took).

Even with our firm resolve to control snacking and lose weight, walking straight past Gelare on Tuesdays is near impossible. So we succumb to temptation and eat half priced waffles, and make origami with their serviettes to leave behind on the plate for the waiter/waitress. (By the way, the small waffle is so not worth it - get the big one.)
